Name: Leo Babylon
Species: Catkine
Age: 38
Sexuality: Straight, unless he's on heat, although his wife, Morag, knows his cycle so well that barely applies anymore.
Appearance: Very leonine. 6'7", stocky and muscular, with sandy gold fur and very thick, shaggy dark blond hair reaching to the middle of his shoulderblades like a mane. He has a short dark blond beard but catkine don't go in for mustaches because it interferes with their whiskers. His eyes are bright gold, of course with the feline slit pupils, and he has two earrings in each ear and one ring in his right brow. It is known that his left nipple is pierced and rumoured that he has at least one frenum piercing but Morag isn't telling.
He has an elaborate dragon-wing and crossed-sword tattoo at the root of his tail and a Leo zodiac sign on the right side of his head behind his ear.
He dresses flamboyantly off-stage, but not beyond reason - on-stage he dresses like the ringmaster he is, all top hats and frock coats.
Skills: Leo is the ringmaster, he's the one that keeps the Cirque du Desir together, introduces the acts and organizes the circus. His voice is a phenomenal leonine roar, and his organizational skills immense. He's very strong and a very good sword fighter, and all in all a tremendously reassuring physical and emotional prescence.
Failings: Leo's main failing is that he's been heading the circus so long that it's gone to his head a bit - he's stopped thinking that anyone else's opinion matters. His ego is starting to get the best of him, and it's beginning to drive his oldest son away from him. It may end up dividing the cirque in time.
Anything else you can think of: Leo was born into the cirque, to an acrobat, Maisie 'La Scintillada' Moorside, and Oliver Babylon, a magician. He started hanging around with the ringmaster's children when he was still a kitten, and it became evident early on that he was ambitious, a good leader and had a very strong personality and a loud voice to match. He started training as a magician like his father but lacked the subtlety and the patience, and the act bored him. When it became evident that none of the children of the current ringmaster, Morten Illingworth-Mitchell, would follow in his footsteps, Leo was taken for training to become a ringmaster one day. In the meantime, there was the comparitively short reign of Morten's brother, Charles, but everyone understood that he was really only a placeholder for Leo, who was becoming a more powerful presence every day.
When he was seventeen he took the job and was an instant success. At eighteen, he fathered his first child, who was to become the handsome and rebellious Zan Babylon. When he was nineteen, he proposed to Zan's mother, the fortune teller Morag Evlantine - although she was pregnant with twin girls, she refused. The twins Gina and Ella were born healthy but the next baby, a boy, was miscarried - Leo was inconsolable but he worked through the despair and offered Morag a tremendous amount of TLC, and eventually, just after Leo's twenty-fifth birthday, she gave birth to another boy, Kier. This time, when Leo proposed, Morag accepted. There were four more kittens born to Morag and Leo - Danny, Sally (short for Salome) and another set of twins, Misha and Mick, but due to modern birth control methods there aren't going to be any more.
Daddy's little girl is Sally. She is seven, very much aware of this and exploits it as much as she can get away with.
Leo wishes Zan would listen to him more, and that Morag wouldn't take Zan's side so much. He doesn't trust Julian at all and wishes he could force Zan not to see him - but even he can tell that would be the way to drive his son away for good.

Hair: Just past shoulder length, with one orange pigtail and one black

Fur: Tortoiseshell

Other: One of the two family babies. Therefore getting spoiled rotten by everyone in the Cirque.

Name: Morag Babylon (nee Evlantine)

Height: 5'8"
Hair: Thick, dark, waist-length curls, worn with colourful scarves
Eyes: Bright green
Fur: Brown tabby
Piercings: Two in each ear, one in right nostril, one navel stud
Tattoos: None - was sort of expected to get the Babylon family symbol when she married Leo, but she wanted to make it clear that Leo didn't own her.
Other: Morag is a skilled fortune teller, the mother of all the Babylon children and the undisputed owner of Leo Babylon's heart and soul. You could say that she was the mother of the entire Cirque by proxy.
